A little over a year ago, we somehow managed to scrape together enough deposit to buy our first house. There are lots of great things about owning your own home and a few less good (gardening anxiety, home improvement stress, not being able to up and leave every time we get itchy-feet), but one thing I do really love is being able to do crazy, spontaneous things, like paint a tree on the wall. It's looking a little autumnal at the moment, but we're going to add an owl and some birds, a few butterflies, and maybe some flowers. Yes, it's very nice not having to face the wrath of the rental agent, just a rather bemused expression from my other half. You'd think he'd be used to me by now...

  1. Love your tree, and you know what? I did exactly the same thing. Painted a tree on my daughter's wall when she was a bub. It has two baby owls in a nest and it towers over her room.
