I really love Maggie O'Farrell's writing (I'm desperate to read her latest novel, The Hand That First Held Mine - please come out in paperback soon, so I can justify you!), and I really like what she has to say here about motherhood and writing. There's been rather a lot of theatricality in our house lately, so Little Miss Thespian was delighted to discover my childhood tutu. I never was much of a ballerina (a clumsy stomper if ever there was one!), but it didn't stop me from wearing this beautiful blue tutu at any opportunity. Hopefully she's inherited her father's grace...
